The children had such a fantastic week looking at space, rockets and the moon. It was a great opportunity to explore some sensory activities and play with light in the dark den.

They loved the space walk.  We placed different objects under a sheet and then they could feel how hard or soft they were as they walked on the moon!

They also had the added fun of playing with moon buggy’s and astronauts in foam. Such an exciting opportunity to create marks and get messy!

Most children love getting their hands messy and sensory play is a very important part of a child’s development as they can experience and understand different textures. Sensory play also helps to improve a child’s coordination and awareness of the world around them and encourages them to work cooperatively with others. What’s not to love!
