We are a private, independent pre-school and nursery which provides a safe, stimulating and caring environment for children from 2 to 5 years. We pride ourselves in helping children to develop socially, physically and academically.
Based in St Saviour’s church hall, Sandpit Lane, St Albans, the setting has been running for many years and is owned and managed by Tina Alder and Claire Toms.
At St Saviour’s we support our children in becoming happy, inquisitive and successful learners through a balanced curriculum of child-led activities, free choice and adult-led group learning.
Information and Dates
Our sessions are term-time only Monday to Friday, from 9.15am to 12.15pm with an optional lunch club on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays until 1pm.
Pre-School or Nursery?
Children can start at St Saviour’s in the pre-school the term after their second birthday. We also have a dedicated Nursery for the 3- to 5-year-old children where they can explore some adult-led activities planned around their interests and needs before they join the younger children for free play. This integration of age groups creates some wonderful relationships and play opportunities.
Our happy parents
I greatly value how much emphasis is placed upon outside play, with the children getting to use the lovely garden in all weather.
St Saviour’s has been the most wonderful launch pad for our children’s early years education.
Little imaginations can run wild here.
It’s quite magical to arrive each morning and see what appears in the role-play area: a fire engine; a jungle camp; a royal banquet.
